A Bittersweet Goodbye

Last weekend we said goodbye to a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. It was a bittersweet day to say the least. We said goodbye to Kelly's grandma but we also got to come together as a family and renew relationships with some we had not seen for years. It was so good to see those family members and to reconnect. We love them all and have missed them all so much. We love Grandma and although we miss her deeply, we are excited for her and the new phase of life she is beginning. She is finally back with grandpa after 31 years. We know that was a wonderful reunion for her, as well. April found some Christmas ornaments that Grandma had made of the grandkids and so she put up a Christmas tree, and placed all the ornaments on it and everyone got to come and find theirs before they left the dinner and take it home with them. We also tried to get pictures of each of the families before they left. Grandma had nine kids and seven of them are still alive and have nice big families. We are so thankful for the blessing of FAMILY!
